Swim
Comments: I kept my HR low and stayed very straight. Took the corners very tight. The mens sprint wave started on my second loop, so I took a few hits and had to speed up to fight for my place. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Very messy transition (the ground). My feet got a little muddy, so it took me longer to get my shoes on. What would you do differently?: Extra towell for that venue Bike
Comments: I tried to take it easy on the way out, I pushed a little hard on the false flat (stupid ego). I was cold on the way back, it wasn't very warm. My IT bands in both knees, and my patellar tendon were bothering me toward the middle to the end. I didn't pedal as fast on the way back to rest them for the run. 20 oz of Elite and water, one package of Cliff Shots. What would you do differently?: Be more structured with my physical therapy exercises, that would've allieviated most of the discomfort. I thought I might need a jacket in T1, I shouldn't listened to my instincts. I need more calories during this ride. Maybe a gel? I don't like chewing and riding, my nose runs and I choke. Transition 2
Comments: I was a little slow, but it's my first olympic, so I didn't feel the need to hurry. I was just trying to get through feeling strong. I took a swig of cytomax and grabbed my moons. What would you do differently?: Again, an extra towell for feet. Run
Comments: I was proud that I ran all the course accept for the hydration stops and I stoped twice to eat my Luna moons. I was tired, but I felt pretty good, enough to really pick up the pace for the finish. What would you do differently?: I was a little bloated after the bike. I didn't drink too much, but I might need to look at my electrolyte replacement. I did 2 7 mile runs the two previous weeks. Next time I should do at least ome 8, and possibly after another activity. Play around with other ways to get nutrition on the bike, and figure out what is bloating me. Post race
Warm down: I was one of the last to finish, so all my buddies were already done and getting awards. It was nice of them to cheer me on. Since I was so late, I got some extra attention from all the athletes, it was nice, but I was a little embarrased to be finishing so slow. Oatmeal raisin cookie, water and 1/2 a banana. Massage immediatly after, then chocolate milk and pepsi on the way home. My friend was there cheering on others, she went and got my car so I didn't have to ride back to parking. Yay Leslie! What limited your ability to perform faster: Experience. It was my first oly distance, I know what I need to work on to improve my time. Event comments: I like this race, it's a very scenic bike course, warm lake and nice dirt trail for running. I'll do it again. Last updated: 2009-05-25 12:00 AM

Wake up 4am, drink milk and take vitamins. Picked up Leslie at the school and drove to Echo. I ate whole wheat bagel with natural pb and honey on the way. Ate a banana after setting up transition. Ate a Luna bar about 1 hour out. Drank 1/3 of sugar free Rockstar about 15 min out.
Swam back and fourth between start buoys a little bit.
