Swim
Comments: My time on the website is 6:07 but that includes leaving the pool deck and jogging 1/2 way down a hill. Nice to swim in a pool, outside. The swimmers in front of me actuall slowed me down. I caught my 20sec lead guy as well as 40 and 50 sec leaders. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: I started too fast and redlined. Then I eased off. I rode my rode bike because of the course (hills, multiple laps, crowd). I'm glad I did but it likely cost me some time. However, I think I would have been a littel nervous on my tri bike. Transition 2
Comments: T2 mat was not working so it's included in the run. Run
Comments: Includes T2. I was having a rough spot and then I thought of my wife waiting for me and that helped me through as well as allowing me to increase my pace. The last half of the run I pushed hard. Post race
Warm down: Had to walk around for a bit. What limited your ability to perform faster: I just don't do well in short events. Not bad but my running pace was not any better then in an Olympic race. However, to be fair, I'v e only rune two times in the last two weeks and that's in a pool to nurse a bad Achilles. The Achilles survived. Event comments: Very good race for beginners but expect a few hills on the ride. Last updated: 2009-05-27 12:00 AM
