Swim
Comments: Had a real tough time. This swim was a prep swim for some other tri's this year and I really struggled. The course and event were good but the start was really messy and I really struggled getting a rhythm. I feel good physically but breathing and navigation were really hard. What would you do differently?: Eat better, different wetsuit (farmer john) which is less restrictive on shoulders. My expectations for seeming forward progress also need to change and I need to focus on rhythm rather than perception. More pool and open water time needed. Post race
Warm down: Bike for 20 miles (2 laps around lake) followed by great lunch. I really liked the fact that the race nicely accommodated bike time. Long night without sleep listening to neighbors talk loudly. Trying to get baby to sleep for about 2 hours in the middle of the night. Small breakfast. No Coffee because all coffee shops were closed on drive to race.
10 minutes of getting used to water, short swim and treading water.
