Swim
Comments: Bad swim when compared to others but I felt good about my ability to remain calm and remain in the crawl. It was a bit disheartening to be passed by other waves but not surprising. I tried a different wet-suit and felt better. I also did better with navigation. Transition 1
Comments: Very long transition. From swim to bike was a long ways and out of the bike to the pavement was a long ways. I just didn't want to run too hard with the bike. Bike
Comments: Felt good on the bike and the pace was comfortable. I didn't manage food well enough and dropped a bottle. What would you do differently?: Be much more careful with the bottle, stand up and stretch occasionally. Try a different flavor or style of cliff bar, it was way to hard to eat swallow. Transition 2
Comments: Good transition. What would you do differently?: Would probably have switched to dry socks Run
Comments: Legs felt like lead for the first two miles. Feet were numb and it felt like my sock was rolled under my foot. If felt slow but I was pretty steady trying to keep legs from cramping. Could have gone faster but wanted to leave some in tank to be ready for the next race. It was a bit tough to determine distances during the first part of race because the signs were weird. I didn't get a good distance measurement for 3 miles. What would you do differently?: Maybe switch socks. Speed up just a little and focus on positives. Post race
Warm down: Walk, smile, stretch. Event comments: Good race, good organization, nice volunteers. The post race giveaway was poorly done but the race was great. Last updated: 2009-05-28 12:00 AM
