What would you do differently?: Could maybe have swum quicker. Should have stuck on the buoys marking the course. Transition 1
Comments: Long transition - 300m from water to transition area. Felt like I was cramping up (calves) from the swim to the bike, but bike was fine (and no sign of cramp). Bike
Comments: Drank approx 500ml of gatorade per hr. Ate approx one gel per 40-45mins. Big tumble at aid station at 78km -don't try and pick food up at high speed on tri-bars. Spent approx 5mins recovering at aid station (scrapes down left arm, brusie to ribcage on LHS, winded) What would you do differently?: Not fall over! Transition 2
Comments: went to toilet. Spent a bit of time recovering from fall because breathing was hard. Run
Comments: Hard to run - first 3km really tricky (both getting legs and also breathing because of ribcage hurting). Generally a very slow run - was aiming for 2hrs or below (which is probably achievable). Frequently stopped and walked through all rest stations - need to work on not doing this! Post race
Warm down: Did some stretching - quads felt fine, calves were tight What limited your ability to perform faster: Crash, swimming ability, first 3km of run, could have gone harder on the bike Event comments: 408 out of 858 starters.
