The swim was not as great as I had hoped. My time was on target but the wave I was in seemed to stray off course several times. I always sight for myself but I think the first bouy I was following the pack and strayed a bit.
What would you do differently?:

Started out closer to the front. I always underestimate my speed in the swim. It is too hard to fight past some of the breast strokers and 'non-swimming' folk.

I was stuck in the wetsuit again on the heels. Had to sit down to take it off. The race hasn't posted transition times so I'm not sure how much it cost me.

This was a HILLY course! It had rollers and knock out steep climbers! People were WALKING the hills!!?! I felt good that I was not only able to do the hill but pass numerous people on each hill. Also my recovery time was quick and I was onto the next hill strong and fresh. IM training is paying off.

Nothing. I felt awesome!

First mile was a bit slow, 10 mm pace. After I hit the start of the 2nd mile I found a pace bunny. I ran with her the rest of the way at a 9:20 pace. Felt strong just needed some motivation. I usually fade on the run and just need to HTFU.
What would you do differently?:

start out faster...i can take it!

Warm down:

Pretzel, water bottle, sit on my butt and watch the others finish.

Event comments:

The only complaint I have is the start was pushed back twice for late comers. It bothered me that I took the time to get there super early and yet the late people were accomodated. Seriously....its not fun standing around in a wet suit for an hour!
