Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4:45 and took a shower to loosen up a little. Has a snack as it was going to be a short day. Sipped on Gatorade till close to start time. I took in a little too much but i guess you live and learn.
Event warmup:

Got to t2 and had to ride down to t1 it was all down hill but seeing as this was the first time i rode my new bike it was good for me. This race also had a required 10min warm up on the swim.

Had a strong fast swim. I went without the suit. The speed that i would have made up i would have lost is T1 taking it off. Sighted and stayed on course really well. This was one of the best swims i have had to date.
What would you do differently?:

I went out a little too hard and i think it really hurt the first part of my bike.

So being the young a foolish boy that i am i decided to take my new transition pro to the race. I have ridden it maybe 4 miles on a flat road in gym shorts just to make sure i felt like i could ride it. This was not the race to take a new Tri bike on as it was all up hill. I am not a climber and i would have been faster and better off on my regular bike. My view was hey i paid a lot for this thing i am going to ride it. So I suffered but hey you live and learn. I can say one thing about this course, it was beautiful. Great views, tree lined and not in an urban area. If you live near here and want a hard course you should give this a look.

This was a beautiful run that was also very hard. There was a lot of climbing and descending but it made for a fun run. I think that my run is much stronger than it was last year.
What would you do differently?:

More hill training.

Warm down:

Wandered around, we had to wait for our stuff to come up from T1. Good finish area, called everyone's names as they finished it made a lot of people smile.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My stupid bike choice and needing to run more hills.

Event comments:

This was a well run beautiful race. It stated 8mis late so no big deal. One spot on the run had a 10k marker and not the 5k but it was straight forward. I would have like to have done better but i know for next year. I will be back and most like going to do the Oly next year. If you are in the area i would recommend this race.
