Comments: Adrenaline start and broke rhythm on 2nd lap. What would you do differently?: Stayed with planned pace Transition 1
Comments: Watched a few racers while gearing up. Took home some good insight. What would you do differently?: Next time it's all about me Bike
Comments: Had to stop for traffic once. That sucked some time off the clock because the officer and driver weren't communicating effectively!!! We were warned to beware of traffic prior to the race start What would you do differently?: Crank a little harder, aero bottle next time. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Speed laces? Run
Comments: Legs felt heavy and stride was a little shorter than usual What would you do differently?: More bike/run transition runs Post race
Warm down: Walk and stretch followed by cheering on other USAFA racers What limited your ability to perform faster: Made the decision to tri 4 months ago. More to come and will improve as training and mentoring continue Event comments: Enjoyed my first tri! Minor annoyance tip-toeing across wet field for 300 yards but out of mind as soon as I hit the pavement. Overall good event, cheerful volunteers, plenty of snacks/fruit, and great weather. Stayed up later than planned! 5:00 am wakeup. Waffles with honey and peanut butter, an apple and diluted sports drink prior to leaving. Arrived at Ft Carson around 6:45 and setup transition area and checked in.
None. 1st tri so I took the time to watch and talk with others and learn the method to this madness called Triathlon. A lot of good energy prior to the event
