Swim
Comments: Started at the front and it worked out well. It was crowded in Beginning as always. I was grabbed a few times nothing major. Was kicked on the side by a breast stroke swimmer... Please get some lessons!! It is WAY too tight in a wave start to do breaststroke the whole way!! Overall a good swim What would you do differently?: train more! Transition 1
Comments: It had started raining in earnest during the swim so EVERYTHING was wet. I have tyo wonder if it is worth it putting on socks in the rain.. Just spounges for your feet!! What would you do differently?: forgot to unzip wetsuit after swim exit! Got to my bike and was still zipped up. i lost a little time there overall ok transition Bike
Comments: It was really a wet course and I took it easy, I felt the bike hydroplane adn felt it wasnt' worth crashing in my first race on my new tri bike!! Went hard a some points went really easy at others. First tri in the rain. It was a sloppy mess! What would you do differently?: race in dry weather!! I wouldn't change anything. I went as hard as I felt comfortable going. It is only a race and not worth road rash and injury in such conditions! Transition 2
Comments: I racked my bike in the wrong spot!! Then realized and moved to where I was set up. Mental error! It cost me a few seconds. I'll pay ore attention next time What would you do differently?: pay more attention! Run
Comments: I felt good off the bike, it was up hill out of the transition area anfd that didn't help my legs, but I felt pretty good. I have plantar faciits that I have been battling since April. My foot felt pretty good but started bothering me towards the end. A pretty slow run, but considering my training it was to be expected!! What would you do differently?: Have a health foot and train the way I need to to compete Post race
Warm down: Met with my friends, GREAT RACE GUYS!! Had a chicken sandwich and stretched my foot. What limited your ability to perform faster: Weather conditions and my foot. I have now done my first tri in the rain!! I learned a lot and will be better prepared for next time!! Event comments: Mandatory bike drop is absolutely ludicrous!!!!! I had to waste most of my Friday to get my bike there. I WILL NOT DO THIS RACE NEXT YEAR IF THERE IS A MNADATORY DROP. IT WAS 110 MILES ROUND TRIP FROM MY HOUSE. TtHAT IS 220 MILE IN 2 DAYS!!! They changed the setup from last year to accommodate more people. I would really like to have the transition and the finish line the same place. It is much easier to spectate.
