Swim
Comments: Going in I knew the swim was going to be my weak point and there was no surprise there. Luckily Dan let me use his wetsuit after he swam (I think we were the only two to use a wetsuit in the race!). I needed it to stay aflot. Desite the suit, my legs dragged after the first 100 meters, and my breathing was never right. What would you do differently?: Learn how to swim correctly. The only way I'm going to improve here is to learn proper technique and get in the water 3-5 times a week. I know what I need to do, now I just have to get it done - planning on it this winter!!! Transition 1
Comments: Fastest T1 for me to date, I'm very pleased with this. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: I was really surprised with how well I did on the bike. So surprised in fact when I saw my bike time I felt pretty sure they had it wrong (too fast). I've never hit above 20 mph on a 12 mile ride before so I picked the right day to set a PR. I knew I was pushing very hard on the bike. Due to my poor swim seeding and result I ended up passing 30 or so, which inspired me to keep pushing hard. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I was a little afraid coming off the bike I didn't save enough for the run but my effort was perfect. Transition 2
Comments: Bike shoes off, run shoes on - oh yeah helmet, grabbed Garmin and bottle of water and ran out. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: My LSD run training, although just begining, is already paying huge dividens - THANK YOU Mike Ricci. I trust the expierenced experts on BT when they say if you want to run faster run slower and longer. However I never expected to drop over a minute in my 5K pace by following that advice for just one month. What would you do differently?: Next race I know will run faster because I will continue to run more frequently and increase my weekly run mileage thanks to HRT. Post race
Warm down: This event was very fun, great community feel. They had a live band, full breakfast spread including eggs, bacon, all kinds of bread. Next race I have to remember to strech some post race before hitting the food. What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor swim technique, more time with my new run training. Event comments: I really liked the overall event. The folks from Team TPR who help coordinate training and provide support really made the event enjoyable. Last updated: 2009-06-03 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5am, had bagel with coffee after a glass of water. Then took a shower to wake up! Only got about 4 hours of sleep - as usual.
Talking with friends, setting up transition area. Need to get better at warming up!
