Swim
Comments: I really need to find goggles that won't fog up. When heading back in, I couldn't see a thing. With the sun, and my goggles all fogged up, all I saw was white. I think I swam more than everyone out there because I was just zig-zagging the entire swim. What would you do differently?: Learn how to swim straight. Get better goggles that won't fog as much. Transition 1
Comments: I had a heck of a time getting my socks on. I think I need different socks. Something lower cut so the just slip over the heal easier. What would you do differently?: Get different socks. HTFU Bike
Comments: This was my best ride at ILRA to date. I still struggle with the hills a bit. I need to get more efficient at changing gears and getting ready to climb hills. What would you do differently?: More time in the saddle. I had to take a break from biking for a couple of weeks prior to this race. I'm not sure if this hurt or helped. Transition 2
Comments: Just need to move faster. I also took a drink of water while I was getting my shoes and race belt on. What would you do differently?: Just move faster. Run
Comments: WOW was it hot out there. I did something I never do. I ran with a water bottle. I hate doing this because I swear I drink too much on the run and I can hear the water sloshing around. I had to walk a handful of times. This really destroyed any chance of having a decent run pace. It was just too hot and my legs didn't want to move. What would you do differently?: Not take my water bottle. Not walk, just keep running even if that means slowing the pace a little bit. Maybe wear a sun visor or a hat for my head. Post race
Warm down: Visited with the BT-MI crew. Trish took very good care of us and provided strawberries and watermelon. We stood and the finish line and watched all of the other races finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: The major factor of the day was the heat. Also drinking too much on the run. My inability to swim in a straight line, and being able to see through fogged up goggles. Event comments: This was a fun race to do! I really enjoyed racing where I train. As always, had a blast with the BT-MI crew Last updated: 2009-06-04 12:00 AM

Worked in the morning. Then went the apartment to move more stuff over to the house.
Swam a little bit. This was going to be my first OWS without a wetsuit.
