Swim
Comments: swimming was very hard. i didn't stop but by the time i got out of the water i was very tired. i came out of the lake dizzy and wobbling from side to side. i thought i was going to fall down. sun was hitting us in straight in the eyes going back to the shore. What would you do differently?: train! i started swimming about 5 or 6 weeks ago. Haven't make it to the pool but less than a dozen times in that time. Transition 1
Comments: this event had the bike for last! so i got on my socks, running shoes, and bike jersey on and started running. What would you do differently?: i was dizzy coming out of the water. i took my time to put my shoes. i was almost falling over. Bike
Comments: this course was so hilly. you go on hills and down into a canyon, up and then back. twice the fun! the course ends uphill. it was hard. What would you do differently?: i cramped at around 12 miles. i didn't have electrolytes or gatorade, just water. water didn't help with cramping. i need to carry more elctrolytes with me all the time. i always cramp in long races. always. 3/3. Transition 2
Comments: from the run to the bike was slow. i put my bike shorts on top of my yammers. then i put my shoes, my helmet and got my energy bars. What would you do differently?: run and jump on the bike. practice with shoes clipped to the pedals for the next race. i also got on my bike at stand still and started pedaling, no jumping. Run
Comments: this is not my usual times. i have run 7 to 10 minutes faster during practice. i was spent coming out of the water. What would you do differently?: i didn't push myself because i didn't have any energy. i had a pit stop to relieve myself. walked for 20 yards and started running again. almost gave up. i was in a world of hurt. Post race
Warm down: stretched, that was it. i was tired. no energy to do anything else. What limited your ability to perform faster: swimming! 37 minutes is way slow. the winner was just over 22 minutes. in 15 minutes some folks can run 3 miles!!! no chances of survival if i don't become a more efficient, strong swimmer. Event comments: this is my first triathlon. i think it was well organized. i would definitely do it again. Last updated: 2009-06-05 12:00 AM

Got up at 5:10 am. Ate scrambled eggs with toast with jelly and pb and had 2 cups of coffee for breakfast. Went to drop off bike at the T2 (swim, run, bike event) and then headed for the lake.
ran like 4 minutes max. stretched a little bit. use the porta-potty. didn't have much time to warm up.
