Bike
Comments: it was my first century ever. it was a though course, with 2 big hills with over 1000 feet elevation each. the last one was at mile 85, it was brutal. but it was a lot of fun. What would you do differently?: carry 2 o 3 water bottles. feeding stations were about 25 miles apart. My water was gone every time i reached the next station. Also carry electrolytes supplements. I cramped really bad at mile 70. Post race
Warm down: None. Ate and went home. Stretched. Will go on a small run this What limited your ability to perform faster: i was riding with a team of guys. i had to wait on them. everybody was spent at the last hill. i went up by myself. had to wait for them at the feeding area. but i think i could have gone faster if i had spend more time on the bike before the race. i did a couple of 40 miles 2 and 1 week before the century. other than that only 20-30 mile rides. Event comments: the only thing bad about this century is that 2 of the gates on the rio grande path were close and we had to pick our bikes over the gates. Last updated: 2009-06-05 12:00 AM
