Run
Comments: Loved the overall time but feel like I pushed too hard on first run, felt pretty spent coming into T1, and walked bike out of T1. What would you do differently?: Concentrate on breathing/running rhythmn more, try to push without putting all my eggs into the first run basket. Transition 1
Comments: Once on bike felt like I got into a good rhythmn quickly and forgot about the spent feelings on the first run Bike
Comments: Felt really good, a comfortable but faster run than last race. Made sure to get water in on the ride, to avoid trying to hydrate on run #2. Felt that worked out well. Transition 2
Run
Comments: much better feeling on this run. Really focused on even breathing/running pace. Enough energy for a push at the end, felt like legs had just enough energy to get there. Was disappointed that my run #2 time was slower than Run #2 time last race, but feel that I pulled out okay after burning up on first run. What would you do differently?: Push pace a bit harder and try to make both runs more even paced. Post race
Warm down: Water, stretching Event comments: Got awarded 3rd place in age division, which was a great feeling (even though there were only 4 of us including the overall race winner!) Also got ranked in overall Master Male category, which was a surprise. Broke the top 20% overall. Beat my goal of 1:30 overall time! Loved the event, will sure to be back next year. PB bagel and bananna for b-fast
took sports beans 1/2 hour prior, drank bottle sports drink enroute
lots of traffic @ race entry - barely enough time to get bike set and to starting line
Stretched for a couple minutes but didn't get as much stretching as I wanted, and no time for warm ups
