Total Time = 3h 13m 1s
Overall Rank = 18/29
Age Group = 40-49
Age Group Rank = 9/11
Pre-race routine:

Walked around and kept muscles loose.
Event warmup:

Dynamic stretching.
Swim
  • 31m 52s
  • 1500 meters
  • 02m 07s / 100 meters
Comments:

Great swim, nice a calm. My goggles FINALLY did a good job at not leaking. I put them on dry this time. They got a little foggy, but nothing to bad. The bottom was a little murky and some small fish. I hit seaweed once. I was really happy with my 6th position.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

The mount line was nice and close. I still have to work on running with my bike shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Practice running in bare feet and mounting bike with shoes already on.
Bike
  • 1h 34m 19s
  • 40 kms
  • 25.45 km/hr
Comments:

The course was pretty hilly, compared to what I have trained on. I really used my gears alot. Going westbound the hills were pretty tough.
What would you do differently?:

More hill training. I did one week in Bruce County earlier this year, but I think I could have used a couple more weeks of hill training somewhere else.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

I did not ride with my feet on the top of my shoes. I did not jump off the bike either. My leg felt sooooo heavy.
What would you do differently?:

Practice dismounting.
Run
  • 1h 06m 51s
  • 10 kms
  • 06m 41s  min/km
Comments:

I think only 2 people actually were are to run up the hills. I am overall happy with my pace, even though I walked up the hills.
What would you do differently?:

More hill work.
Post race
Warm down:

I stretched everything out.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Experience.

Event comments:

I would definitely do this race again after I do some hill training on the bike and the run.
