Swim
Comments: Swim start was a bit of a mess. The announcer said we were to line up no deeper than calf/ankle water - the first bhouy was more over to the left which made the start not straight forward. Plus while I was waiting everyone else moved into deeper water and angled themselves - I thought the announcer was going to call everyone back but he didn't - so needless to say my swim started with a 5-10 meter deficit on most of the wave! But I had a great smooth swim and caught a lot of people. What would you do differently?: Try for better positioning at swim start. Transition 1
Comments: Good T1 - remembered to take more time to get a gel in my system - didn't want to bonk like last time. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: Good bike - felt strong and positive. Really built on the good swim. What would you do differently?: Have to break my habit of braking! Seriously no need to slow down as much as I do before cornering. Transition 2
Comments: Why was my transition placement all messed up! Ughhh other racers - the last two times I have raced my transition stuff has all been messed up by other racers being careless. A little annoying but i did what I needed to do and had the fastest T2 in my age group! What would you do differently?: Nothing - had it down today. Run
Comments: I was so frightened of this run because last race I found it really hard. This time I was really focused, felt good and just kept moving - really spent time making sure my stride turn over was high (I have short legs and don't do a long stride - so turn over needs to be high) and that I stayed alert and set short term goals (like passing each individual racer in front of me). It worked and I managed to sprint in to the finish. What would you do differently?: Nothing - this is how all my races should go! I worked hard and it paid off. Post race
Warm down: Talking to other racers and my friend Carol! What limited your ability to perform faster: Still need to make improvements on bike handling and continue to increase my running. Event comments: Bonelli is always disorganized. Think family picnic but your family just happens to have triathlon in common. Last updated: 2009-06-08 12:00 AM

Drove to event (zoned out and missed exit - but luckily plenty of time to get to race). Ate and drank while setting up transition.
Very short swim as warm up. More like a dip in the water really.
