Swim
Comments: No stage timing because of electrical problems What would you do differently?: I think this was probably my best ever effort in the pool. I did 100M without issue, and I felt VERY fast. Water temperature felt cold, but I adjusted quickly and swam hard. Still taking too many rest breaks. Transition 1
Comments: Again no segment timing but I felt like I was pretty quick on the bike. I forgot a lot of stuff this first race, but 5 hour energy was a huge win. Didnt know how valuable that cafeine would be but it helped make up for a lack of snacks on the bike later on. What would you do differently?: Not much I like my setup for the T1. Bike
Comments: I was slow and terrible. If it werent for the safety truck, i would never have finished my first tri. I didnt know how to properly adjust my gears and I wound up with my chain stuck in between chainrings. What would you do differently?: Train, train, TRAIN! I need to really work on hills a lot more. My flat rides werent even enough, let alone the lack of hills. Transition 2
Comments: Another ok transition. I seem to be pretty decent at moving between stages, probably because im not moving that fast. What would you do differently?: Not much, maybe more careful to remove my helmet and place it more quickly on the ground Run
Comments: I was EXHAUSTED, and frankly amazed I finished this race. Because ive done so many 5ks, I wasnt too worried about the walk, but it probably would have been good to do more of it What would you do differently?: train more, I need to transition to running. Post race
Warm down: stand around, get in car, get subway, drive home What limited your ability to perform faster: Im fat and I didnt train anywhere near enough. Event comments: It was fun for a first timer, but it didnt seem to have enough going on around it, and I hope that future races im in are more enjoyable all around. Last updated: 2009-06-08 12:00 AM
