Pre-race routine:

Cheerios and banana for breakfast. Thunderstorms rolled through about 5am, checked weather radar and it looked like the front had moved east. Headed out to the lake around 6:15.
Event warmup:

Set up in the transition area. Picked up my timing chip and got body marked. Swam a little in the lake to warm up.

I like this course and train on it all the time. It is a hard course for me to carry speed as it changes directions because of the hills and corners.

I felt tired on the run, but looking back I think it was mostly in my head and could have run harder. This was the slowest run this season and I know I can do better.

Suck it up and run harder.

Sleep. I need to figure out a way to sleep better before these races. It's tough between the kids and the dog.
