Talking with friends and loosening up.
Event warmup:

Get used to cold water ahead of time. Stretch a little.

OK swim in chilly water. Never did warm up completely. First competitive OWS.
What would you do differently?:

Start closer to front of pack so I am not swimming over people (this cost me at least a minute). Also, will need to practice more OWS as lakes warm up.

Foggy coming out of water, really took my time here.
What would you do differently?:

Practice swim/run bricks (did none in training). Practice running in bike shoes.

What would you do differently?:

Practice more hills. Take in much more water during ride.

Was quite tired for the run and did not have enough fluids prior to. Was able to finish strong though.
What would you do differently?:

More bike/run bricks and take in more fluid.

Warm down:

Stretching and taking in plenty of water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training in hill climbs with bike. No swim/run brick training. Not much OWS experience. First triathlon.

Event comments:

Great first race. Plenty of volunteers. Plenty of spectators. Everything was on time and well organized.
