Swim
Comments: The huge catch on the time is that it included a 700m run to the transition area. Taking off an estimated 3:30 my actual swim time was approx 7:41 for a sub 2min per 100m pace. Good ranking overall where I should be with my swim ability. What would you do differently?: Get a steadier pace. Focused quite a bit on navigation so I need to be confident in going straight. Transition 1
Comments: New wetsuit was brutal getting off. Totally underestimated the tapering at the ankles. Much tighter in that area than the Nineteen suits I previously rented. What would you do differently?: take more care removing suit. Bike
Comments: It started pouring rain at the start of the bike and continued for the entire ride. I had a poor first 5km. Took awhile to get a steady pace going. Avg 28km/h first 5km and 32km last 5km. What would you do differently?: Condition myself to get up to speed faster and more comfortably. Learn the course- With no bikes in sight I came to almost a complete stop at an intersection as a cop was pointing one way that looked odd. Turns out he was stopping a car so I could go straight through. Transition 2
Comments: decent transition though I had heartburn adn did not know where my tums were so went without. What would you do differently?: I bring the tums...so put them on my mat. Run
Comments: pretty good time for me overall. Heartburn was bothersome but I powered through. 6:48 to the turnaround and 5:41 back. So once again I am slow getting up to race pace in a discipline. Legs felt quite stiff off bike. What would you do differently?: Flexibility is affecting running. Need to do so regular yoga. Post race
Warm down: Water. Did some stretching and cleaned transition. For some reason I grabbed some pizza took one bite and threw out. Wasteful I know. Did some stretching and cleaned transition. What limited your ability to perform faster: flexibility and heartburn. Event comments: Well organized. The HSBC series does not make tritri athletes feel like second class citizens. Though I will do longer races I still like the short ones. Last updated: 2009-06-11 12:00 AM

Woke up at 6:45. A screaming teething baby was not conducive to a good nights sleep. Cheerios, Banana, coffee and yogurt. Lots of Gatorade and water. Unfortunately my stomach was not playing ball which resulted in several pit stops.
Light stretching and 100m swim getting used to new wetsuit.
