Swim
Comments: First 100m my goggles filled with water and I had to fix them. The rest of the swim went well for the first swim with the wetsuit. Navigation was poor, but it's been a long time since I've done an open water swim. Pace was average for me. What would you do differently?: Make sure the goggles fit properly before the swim. Transition 1
Comments: Put bike shoes on and then ran. What would you do differently?: Skip the socks. Put the bike shoes on the bike and then hop on the bike and put shoes on. Probably save me some time. Bike
Comments: Overall a decent bike ride. A little slower than normal, but there were a few decent climbs to take on. What would you do differently?: Watch the gearing on the turns... some of the turns led right into hills. Transition 2
Comments: Best T2 ever! What would you do differently?: Speed up. Run
Comments: Kept cool for the most part, was a little hot off the bike, but cooled down as I continued to run. What would you do differently?: Not much. Do more brick workouts during training. My legs felt somewhat heavy during the first mile of the run. Post race
Warm down: Some stretching, drinking the rest of my water & sports drink. Changed into dry clothes, tossed on the compression socks and drove home. Should stretch out more when I'm done. What limited your ability to perform faster: Familiarity with the course, nerves. Event comments: It's a training race, so the amenities of a big race are not there.
