Pre-race routine:

up, shave, eat bowl of cereal, get to the event early. Set up trasition, get chip, give them my T2 bag, start warm up
Event warmup:

light jog, one sprint, up hill jog
open water swim of about 200m
Swim
  • 34m 46s
  • 1500 meters
  • 02m 19s / 100 meters
What would you do differently?:

start on the outside of the group, so I round the buoys on the outside of the pack, reduce being crushed at sea
Transition 1
  • 02m 15s
Bike
  • 1h 29m 21s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 16.69 mile/hr
What would you do differently?:

use my other bike, a time trial bike is not good for that course
Transition 2
  • 00m 30s
Comments:

valet racking at this race, all I had to do was drop my helmet, put on a running cap to protect my head, and grab my gatorade bottle.
Run
  • 1h 07m 41s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 10m 54s  min/mile
What would you do differently?:

need to find a way to carry drinking supplies without them being in my hand.
Post race
Warm down:

sat in a kiddy pool of ice and water

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The headwind, and the heat

Event comments:

There needs to be a better way to transport athletes to the starting line and leave their vehicles parked at the finish line. I recommend a bus for athletes only.
