This was my first race. Absolutely fantastic time!
The other participants were great, very friendly, shared ideas.
I finished under 1 hour 40 minutes, for a 220 pound dude, that isn't too bad. Now I am hooked! The run was a challenge, I have been running on a treadmill, much different on the road. The bike ride was a piece of cake.
The swim was interesting, The wetsuit kept me warm, but I felt like I was being strangled at the half way point of the swim.
The most interesting aspect of the event was the many different bodies. The old saying "there will always be somebody better looking, bigger, faster, stronger, weaker, slower and fatter" was true. Some participants looked like they should be models and others looked like they were 2 minutes away from their 3rd heart attack. I had a great time, any suggestions for my second race?
