Swim
Comments: I was happy with my swim. My biggest fear was navigating, as I have a tendency of zig-zagging in open water but I was able to stay on course. What would you do differently?: Swim harder. I had to remind myself several time to kick Transition 1
What would you do differently?: I had a hard time getting my left shoe clipped into my pedal. Bike
Comments: The hill at the end was tough. I dropped my water bottle around mile 6. A very kind cyclist (Bib #71) behind me offered his. I was going to pick up another bottle at the water station but did not. There was a 5 mile stretch that was full of potholes and rough surface. What would you do differently?: Hold onto my bottle. Take extra water. Climb, climb and climb Transition 2
Run
Comments: I loved this course except near the turn around near the dam. It's hard enough to catch your breath when running; it's even harder when the course takes you past a rancid sewage treatment plant. What would you do differently?: Dig deeper Post race
Warm down: Stretch, Drink, Eat, Drink, Eat. What limited your ability to perform faster: My weight Event comments: Except for the run past the sewage, I thought this was a great race. The state park is gorgeous, the staff and voluteers were great. It was a great camping weekend getaway for our family. Last updated: 2009-06-14 12:00 AM
