Pre-race routine:

Very bad, night before ended up going to the Pub at the Rocky Gap resort, had a chicken sandwhich with fries, all greasy couple of beers. Food sat really heavy in my stomach. Then found out that they would not have breakfast until 6:30. Had a cup of coffee and then some animal crackers which I took from the kids :) Got to the race and found a banana and a bagel, good stuff. Toilet stop 3 times! Thanks to all the fried food I am sure. Set up my stuff and headed over to the swim start.
Event warmup:

nothing really just jumped in the water to get the suit wet. Lovely water temp +- 72F lovely lake, very clear, flat perfect fresh water swim conditions.
Swim
  • 27m 56s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 52s / 100 meters
Comments:

had a minor anxiety attack (lets call it mini freak out) actually even less, I just did a bit of breast stroke to get my breathing right, then settled in for a lovely swim. I need to get back into the pool to practice I could have easily done this in +25 minutes with some practice.

TRAIN
Transition 1
  • 01m 27s
Comments:

I keep saying this but I need to practice getting into my bike shoes using rubber bands to keep them clipped in. Also need to practice a run without socks and a ride without socks. otherwise all went well.
Bike
  • 1h 09m 57s
  • 22.5 miles
  • 19.30 mile/hr
Comments:

Lovely course, loved the clim at the end.
What would you do differently?:

I did this Cannibal, I snapped my front derraileur cable on the Friday just before we left and did not want to take a chance with the race mechanic (good call) he would not have been able to fix the internal routed cable. So took my road bike instead.
Transition 2
  • 00m 40s
Comments:

overshot my spot again but just wasted about 5 seconds
What would you do differently?:

need to mark spot better
Run
  • 49m 20s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 07m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

terrible run, I ran about an extra .2M as I missed a turn, so did two other guys that followed me. I think I lost about 30 seconds or more for sure. Otherwise run was ok, it was hot so I underpreformed as usual in the heat.
What would you do differently?:

learn course
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched and walked around, got some food etc

What limited your ability to perform faster:

training and the lack of the Tribike

Event comments:

Great race it is not USTA sanctioned but well worth it. They people are super friendly and the amenities are very good. Very nice DryRelease shirt.
