Swim
Comments: Not wearing a wetsuit obviously made a bit of a difference. I was a little slower but overall my swim performance was not excellent. In any case I had zero anxiety attacks and it felt very comfortable. What would you do differently?: nothing but train more Transition 1
Comments: I had to put a shirt on which took a little time, probably the same as taking a wetsuit off. Long run from the water to the bike. Fairly good transition otherwise. What would you do differently?: Maybe buy a skinsuit for the swim? Bike
Comments: Riding is Defiantly becoming a strength, I felt very comfortable on the bike and the course was perfect for me. A lot of big chain ring climbs. What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 2
Comments: Excellent transition, I came first in my age group and ranked very high overal. Did not wear socks again which worked out well, I did use glide on my shoes so I could slip in easy. What would you do differently?: should look into racing flats Run
Comments: Heat, me and running just don’t get along. I had to walk twice to get my HR down, it was way to hot for me. They did have wash cloths soaking in ice which helped but it was just too hot. I don't think I did that badly in the end. What would you do differently?: try some racing flats or lighter shoes... not sure if that would help. Post race
Warm down: Stretches but more then warm down tried to cool down, it was very hot. I did feel good after the race. What limited your ability to perform faster: the heat Event comments: lots of volunteers, excellent road directions for the ride, volunteers signaling very well.Lots of volunteers, excellent road directions for the ride, volunteers signaling very well. I was surprised that you could not find any water at the start but one of the teams was kind enough to give me some vitamin water. To use race day packet pick up you had to pay $20, shame they don't allow for race day pick up. Last updated: 2009-06-16 12:00 AM

Woke up early, packed car and drove to race. Packed breakfast which I ended up eating really late, PB&J toasted and 2 banana's - in hindsight actually good that I ate two bananas as it was super hot. Got there with plenty of time to spare for set up.
Stretching about 10 minutes
