Swim
Comments: Swallowed some water in the first 300 meters, quite a bit, had to stop and clear my chest etc. After that got into a rhythm again. It seemed like there were a lot of people in the water, I also started at the back and ended up swimming over a lot of people. Hard to sight. The ramp to get out was great and very well set up. What would you do differently?: start a little further to the front 96/463 in age group Transition 1
Comments: Make sure I set my helmet up properly next time, the strap got caught inside when I put it on which wasted time. 19/463 ranking Bike
Comments: I rode hard, had only 3 people pass me during the ride. I felt good during the ride. 20/463 ranking What would you do differently?: Ride harder :) Transition 2
Comments: came first in my age group, I usually do T2 well. I also found my spot easily as I had marked the bar which made it super easy to find the rack. 1/463 ranking ! What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: It was a little to warm for me, in hindsight I think I could have pushed it a little more as I finished very strong. Cranking it up in the last mile. I think I should have been able to reduce my time by at least a minute. 79/463 ranking What would you do differently?: Try running with cap, I usually pour water over my head which then drips down onto the rest of my body and clothes. maybe the cap will contain it to my head. Post race
Warm down: Usual stretches, walked around a fair but trying to find the re-entry point for transition. What limited your ability to perform faster: warm weahter on the run Event comments: Don’t let the logistics of having to go to the pre race briefing at packet pick up and racking your bike on Saturday put you off. It was very well organized. Try to avoid using a car unless you have someone that can double park for you and wait in the car. Or just go straight for a garage, I found one near the hotel for a flat rate of $8. The post race activities are great, band, phones to call your family, massage and excellent food. The venue is great. Last updated: 2009-06-16 12:00 AM
