Pre-race routine:

Got up and ate an egg with some toast at 4:30 a.m. Left the house at 5:00 and got there at 6:10. I got my race kit, body marked, set up transition and watched the start of the Olympic and sprint races.

Got use to the water and swam a bit.

I went way too fast during the bike portion and did not drink nearly enough which would cost me during the run portion. Near the end of the run, I was stuck behind a truck which was going extremely slow, so that cost me some time.

Drink more fluids.

I had to fight off a cramp and I should not have drunk the Gatorade handed to me. I had a bit of steam in the end so I absolutely blitzed it and gave it my all the last 200m.
What would you do differently?:

Not drink the gatorade handed to me since it disturbed my stomach.

Misjudgment.

Event comments:

It was the first year for this event so there was obviously some rough patches, but I loved the race and I was extremely pleased to see my parents attend.
