Swim
  • 10m
  • 400 yards
  • 02m 30s / 100 yards
Comments:

oh interesting, I was disappointed that my swim time was slower, but the RD commented the lake was higher this month... I bet the length was longer. Hmmm. Regardless, I did not swim as well as last month. Not sure why. Best guess is the greater number of bodies (this month was slammed with racers) resulted in a more crowded swim and longer to get my rhythm. Certainly I swam over one (never done that before!! oops!) and got kicked more than other times.
Transition 1
  • 01m 29s
Comments:

felt slow in T1, not sure why. racking was not ideal, way to the outside. again, I think sheer numbers of racers caused this time to be more than I'd like.
Bike
  • 35m 49s
  • 10.3 miles
  • 17.25 mile/hr
Comments:

Slower than last month. thighs were burning the first half of the ride - the skin, not muscles. I wondered if i was going to break into hives from something in the water, but I never itched and then it when away. And my crank sounded like there was a mouse or canary stuck in it with a squeak/chirp on most revolutions. I think I need to tune it up!
Transition 2
  • 00m 49s
Comments:

would have been less with a better racking. T2 is fast - drop bike and helmet, grab hat and go.
Run
  • 36m 56s
  • 3.18 miles
  • 11m 37s  min/mile
Comments:

My goal was to get at/under 12min miles and I rocked that goal!! I ran all hills except the first one! felt strong and good most all the run. Was nice when a rackmate ran a few yards with me as he passed me, would be nice to have more familiar faces to cheer at these things.
Post race
Warm down:

gatorade. melon.
chatted with rackmate. Saw Micheal who I met at his and my first tri ever. Was nice to see him and chat about where we each had gone since that first one in April 08. He's doing Olys now so unlikely to see him much!

Event comments:

The race was late starting as the RD tried to accommodate all the late comers who were still parking at race start. And was quite crowded as compared to June/July races. They really need a few more racks if they are accepting so many racers. But it's a great, fun, easy sprint course that I keep doing!!
