Swim
Comments: Upstream was brutal. If you don't move, the current would push you backwards. No resting on the way out. I felt like a salmon fighting the current. Took 24:23 min to swim to the turn around point and 11:33 min back. Transition 1
Comments: Saw my rack neighbor - he was ready to leave when I arrived. Bike
Comments: First lap was good. With rolling hills and quite a bit of turns, clocked 43:14. On one of the downhill I did > 30 mph. Was so looking forward to this decend on the 2nd lap. Turned back to TA to start 2nd lap - speed dropped noticeably. I was thinking "I am not THAT tired" before I realized it was the wind that had picked up. Even on that particular downhill I could only get up to ~ 27 mph. Made a concious effort to push more on the 2nd lap, clocked 45:26 Managed to thank every volunteer and cop I passed by, and cheered for fellow Trifury members. Transition 2
Comments: Race done. Was doing aquabike Run
Post race
Warm down: Ate, drank, took down TA, chatted, took pictures of teammates. At a glance, I placed 2nd in the female oly aquabike. There were 4 women in that category, but only the 1st place was awarded for aquabike. Still going to brag about coming in 2nd, although there is no medal along with it. :) What limited your ability to perform faster: No structural training. Not looking to do that. Event comments: RD is a Trifury member. Good turn out of the team. Close to home. This race has a difficult swim. Upstream in a river (after a t-storm last night to make things more complicated) is harder than any ocean swim I had done, even with tide coming in. Last updated: 2009-06-21 12:00 AM

5 min before race start went into the water. Current was strong pushing us downstream.
