Pre-race routine:

I was planning to race on Saturday's sprint but the weather was shit. So I did the Olympic on Sunday, It was a perfect day to race.
I got up at 5:40am had brekfeast, 2eggs english muffin, coffee, and a boost drink. Left with Nacny and the boys at 6:45. Got there at 7:30,it was already busy, the bike rack was full, had a hard time finding a spot to rack. Went down to get my race kit,had to see Janet about my race #. Had no probles getting it from her,it took no time. The only thing is my chip did not work. My times are off my watch. Got my wetsuit on went down to the beach around 8:10.
Event warmup:

A light warm up, swam for about 5min's
Swim

  • 02m 10s / 100 meters
Comments:

Had a good swim, got a green cap for 27-30min's swim. The 1st 250m went slow I place my self in the wrong spot, I was stuck in the middle of the pack and had no were to go, if I was on the side I could have gone faster.
I was hit a little bit but not to bad, Once we went around the 1st Bouy it opend up, I felt my swim was at a good pace, after the 1st loop my split time was 14:35, I felt my 2nd half of the swim went better, it really open up. the last 250m I had a good pace going.
What would you do differently?:

Going into the water move to the side.
Transition 1
  • 02m 17s
Comments:

Not sure if that's the right time for my T1. T1 went well, did something diferent, left my shoes off the bike, the last few times had trouble getting into them and getting up to speed. It went well I don't think that I lost much time doing this. I also got lucking with the facted that the ground was still wet and muddy.

Comments:

Had a good ride, Got up to speed in no time, the 1st 3km had to get my legs back, and to get into a good pace. Had some head wind nothing to big or too slow me down. About the 10k mark I felt good and had a good pace going, the way out was more uphill and into the light wind. The hills still slow me down, that's were I got passed most of the time. At the turn my split time was 42.05, the way back was fun I was flying, not very much people passed me on the way back. 2nd split was 36:10 there about's

Run

  • 10 kms
  • 06m 02s  min/km
Comments:

Had a rough run the 1st 4km had cramp in my side, that made me walk. The 1st km was the hardest, I ran maybe 300m before I had to stop and walk.after that it was stop and go till the 6km mark felt better, the cramps went away,7,8,9,10k did not have to walk once, it wasn't a fast pace but it was a good pace. the run was mostly flat, on the way back. At this point in the race I was hoping to finish under the 3hr mark which I did. Not sure way I got the cramps in my side, I did not drink to much on the bike.
