Swim
Comments: The start was a cluster. They weren't enforcing starting by the numbers so I had a lot of people slower than me in the water before me. Had to wait about an hour after the first swimmer before I got in. Swam okay ... tired out early. I think part of that was because I never really felt like I could get into a rhythm due to all the people in the way. What would you do differently?: Push my way farther up the line until I don't see anyone with a number higher than mine. Transition 1
Comments: Transition was a good 100 yards or more and uphill from the pool. Everything went okay though. Bike
Comments: Rode pretty good except for climbing the hills ... they killed me. Got up over 30 on a couple of the downhills. Transition 2
Comments: Changed to run pretty quick, but realized when I was almost to the out-gate that I had forgotten my race belt & number ... had to go back and get it. Run
Comments: I sucked! I think I left my legs on the bike course. My calves felt like they were going to explode whenever I would run. It was hotter than I expected and there was almost no wind. It just wasn't my day. Post race
Warm down: 2 bottles of water 1 vitamin water 1 hamburger Event comments: They had a kids race before the Sprint. That made the Sprint not start until 8:45. Couple that with the increase in size this year and the swim start took WAY to long. That left a lot of us out on the course after it started getting too hot. Last updated: 2009-06-24 12:00 AM
