Swim
Comments: I felt some confidence coming back during the swim that I would be OK for the race. Having not felt myself, I was contemplating not doing the race at all. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Knocked over 4 minutes off my bike time from last year. No changes to the bike course (except for even more potholes?) Transition 2
Run
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Not feeling too well (sore throat, tired feeling). Event comments: Hilly bike and run. Roads fairly rough. It was nice to have my family there, including my wife's parents. I made the mistake when I got home of lying on the bed and I passed out for 2.5 hours. When I woke up my number had transferred to the sheet - dang. Last updated: 2009-06-24 12:00 AM

Slept an extra 1/2 hour. Didn't get to bed until 11pm last night. Made a last-minute rear tire replacement, which always takes me longer than I think it will. Glad I did, the old one was pretty squared off.
Drank and ate a bit waiting for race start (gatorage/water and clif bar)
I still got a decent rack spot when I arrived and did a quick bike ride check. I started realizing I should avoid my small ring as it was giving me difficulty. Later I would realize how annoying this would prove to be. Time for that tune-up. I also did a short run to see if my shoes were adjusted. My legs felt heavy and I did not feel 100%. I had been fighting a sore throat and tiredness for 1/2 a week. I had skipped my normal Wednesday and Thursday workouts due to this.
