![]() Swim
Comments: Didn't sight well to the first bouy. and was about 10-15 yrds off course. Probably could have shortened the swim time by a good 20 seconds if I had stayed on course. Live and learn. What would you do differently?: Sight better ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Long run from swim to T1. A little out of breath when I got there. Could have been a little faster, but overall not bad. What would you do differently?: Be in better shape so I wouldn't be out of breath when I get to there if there is a long run to transition. ![]() Bike
Comments: HILLS! What more can I say. This course has to be one of the toughest sprints in Florida. Pretty much the whole course is hills...some more gradual than others. Top speed = 37 MPH....Low speed = 6.9 MPH. Those numbers should give you an indication of what we were dealing with. Not that I am complaining. I loved the challenge...but it was a challenge. What would you do differently?: Train more on hills. I just recently found a course around me that offers some hill work, but was only able to do a couple of times before this race. I'll be more prepared next year. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Pretty good transition for me. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. ![]() Run
Comments: Pretty slow pace for me, but O.K. considering the bike course I had just endured and the fact that the run course was challenging in and of itself. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Water and walked around and waited for my wife to finish this, her first tri. She did great for it being such a difficult course. I'm so proud of her! What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. I've only been seriously training for tri's for about 6 months. More training will result in better performance. Event comments: Great race! It's a small local race. It only had 36 people last year. This year they tripled in numbers at 108 participants. It's a very challenging course, so I think once the word gets out, it will become very popular. I'm looking forward to doing it next year. I highly recommend. Last updated: 2009-06-24 12:00 AM
