Pre-race routine:

Ended up deciding to do this race sorta last minute. Wanted to get out and support the local running scene.

Got up early and got some breakfast. Was tired, got home late from our trip the night before. Drove down to the park.
Event warmup:

Stretched for 5 minutes, jogged a couple hundred yards.

Comments:

Not a comfortable run at all. My legs felt heavy the whole time and just didn't have any gas in them. Found a pace and just tried to hold it. It was hot and humid. Took a drink at all the aid stations along the way. I actually started to feel decent around mile 5. Tried to push hard into the finish. Ended up PRing by about 5 seconds.
What would you do differently?:

Get more sleep the night before.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked and stretched. Got some water and fruit. Stayed and watched them hand out door prizes and medals.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not much, other than being a little tired, and it was very hot and humid.

Event comments:

Not the best run I've ever had but it was good to get out and race. Glad to see a fair number of runners out. Won a medal and Pr'd so not a bad day.
