Swim
Comments: Hardest part for me. First open water swim ever. Couldn't swim in straight line, couldn't breath on both sides. took 1/3 of mile to get into my zone. just glad to have made it!! What would you do differently?: More open water swims to practice navigation and breathing. Transition 1
Comments: hands and feet were numb making getting socks and shoes on difficult. What would you do differently?: practice this transition more in training. Bike
Comments: felt good on the bike. could have pushed harder, but first tri, wasn't sure how much to hold back to make it through the run afterwards. Passed a lot of people, was not passed at all, so feel good about that. What would you do differently?: Go for it second half of bike course Transition 2
Comments: changed into running shorts which took some time, but was definately more comfortable. otherwise T2 wasn't too bad for first time. What would you do differently?: run more in tri shorts to get comfortable with not changing into running shorts at T2 Run
Comments: Not bad considering I am not much of a runner and have done 10K races at this pace (without swimming and biking) beforehand. Had to walk up a few hills to catch my breath and stretch calves a bit. What would you do differently?: More running training, including more hills and intervals. Post race
Warm down: none - oops! What limited your ability to perform faster: minimal training time. Event comments: Excellent venue!! Great first tri experience. Last updated: 2009-06-26 12:00 AM
