Pre-race routine:

Bagel, cream cheese, yogurt for breakfast 3 hours pre-race. Clif bar 1 hour pre race. Gatorade 16oz for 1 hour prerace.
Event warmup:

10 minute jog. 5 very slow, 2 to 3 with some faster intervals, 2-3 slow cool about 15 minutes prerace.

Comments:

First race with HEED as refueling starting at mile 6. Slight cramping starting at mile 11. Warmer and more humid than I would like.
What would you do differently?:

Start replacing calories and electrolytes a bit sooner.

Warm down:

5 minutes walking, fruit, water, cookies.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Threat of cramping.

Event comments:

Need a binned start. First 1.5 miles was a lot of sorting out on a narrow back country road. Would like to see HEED sooner than 6 miles in the race.
