Run
Comments: I started off in the second row and ran the first mile fast but comfortable. I ran it under 6 like normal but it felt easier today. After the first mile I throttled back a little and dialed in the 6:20ish pace for mile 2 and still felt pretty good and decided I wasn't going to fade on mile 3. I was able to hold my pace on the 3rd mile which is usually where I drop off into the 7 min range but not today. I felt strong. Once I came through the 3 mile mark I was sure I could go under 20 minutes and I picked it up again and ran hard to the finish. I was happy to see the 19:10 as I passed over the finish line. Great PR for me. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Felt great Post race
Warm down: We went over to watch all of the half marathon finishers. What limited your ability to perform faster: NADA Event comments: Great 5K course and race. The venue and post race activities are excellent. Last updated: 2009-06-29 12:00 AM

We stopped by Starbucks to meet up with friends before heading down to Fairfield. I had a small drip on the way down but nothing to eat.
I did some jogging before the race and then did some quick pick ups in the parking lot to warm up my legs and stretched a little. I decided to race in my Newtons today. They are so light compared to my Asics. It was a good decision.
