Swim
Comments: Since the Statesville Tri, about 5 weeks ago, I had not been in the pool once! So I was a little anxious about this. But I think my warm-up routine helped me, and I did pretty well, considering. What would you do differently?: I guess to get better at this event, I actually need to swim more :) Transition 1
Comments: Pretty good T1. I did a lot of walking, and was not too concerned with speed here. Bike
Comments: Pretty good here, as well. The out was more difficult than the back. The speed bumps on the neighborhood street were a bit of a challenge, especially the ones we went over going down hill. I held up pretty well. Transition 2
Comments: Pretty good T1. Again, a lot of walking. Not much running with the bike. Big thanks to the gentleman that threw me a bottle of water when I exited the transition area! Run
Comments: Very tough run. Many hills. I had to walk some of them. That being said, this was the best time I had this year. Which does say something about the sad state of my running ability :) But still, I'll take the improvement. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Since my 'sports related' injury about 4 weeks ago, I have been unable to put in the necessary time to get ready for this event. I even considered not showing up. But, I am glad I did it. I had fun, as always, and there is just a good atmosphere at all of these events I have done. Everyone is in good spirits, and we all have a common goal, to do the best we can do! Event comments: Very good event, I hope to be back next year. Last updated: 2009-06-29 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:30am. Drove to event.
My start time was 8:01am, about 1 hour after the official start. I just watched the event until 7:30, then I did some running to get my heart rate up and work up a sweat. Then, around 7:50, I went to the pool area, did some light swimming and then got into the line.
