Swim
Comments: Swim felt good, I didn't sight very well. But I suppose that might always be a problem. What would you do differently?: Umm...not much, I got into a nice rhythm and enjoyed that. Transition 1
Comments: Took it easy, stopped and talked to Ken. Cracked a few jokes. Petted a dog. Sat in the transition area and got all my gear on, no hurry. What would you do differently?: If it was a race race I would've moved faster, other than that I enjoyed my tempo. Bike
Comments: Ride was good. HR was high to start but got it under control...then just took it easy. I got into a good rhythm and my HR was higher than training rides but not too bad. I had more in me and a few times I sat up to not push too hard. What would you do differently?: If I had infinite number of races I would've gone slower just to see what would've happened to my run Transition 2
Comments: T2 just took it easy, at down and put on my shoes, grabbed my fuel belt and went on my way. Run
Comments: I started off the run real well. Legs felt ok and my pace was good. The HR was high but off the bike it always is. I wanted to run the whole way except through aid stations, I did that, so that is good, but the last two miles were tough. My heart rate was in the upper 170's and low 180's. KInda freaked me out when it go up there. I don't know LT number but it can't be good when my HR is that high. What would you do differently?: carry waterbottle instead of fuelbelt so I can have cold water. Carry GU with me. (had hammer gel on the course) Post race
Warm down: Nada, which is probably why I'm sore What limited your ability to perform faster: My running is kinda poor when compared to other people Event comments: I love that this race is close to home. They should put up another tent though at the end of the race to sit under. It felt so hot in the sun afterward. Last updated: 2005-08-22 12:00 AM

I got up at some toast, oatmeal, and two eggs. Seemed to sit well. I did have a bit of pre-race jitters, but they were very minimal. I tried to keep calm and relaxed.
I took the trainer with me so I could warm up on the bike without having to navigate the people and cars in the park.
Once in the water (I got in the water like 2 minutes before the race started). I swam maybe 100 yards.
