Pre-race routine:

Got up super early and ate my breakfast on the way to the race.
Event warmup:

Light jog around the park. Before the swim I got in and treaded around for a few min.

Comments:

This was my first race at this distance and first time starting from in the water. I made the mistake of wearing my pool goggles which are mirror tented and very dark because they work great at 8:00am whith the sun in your face but not so well at 5:45 am when it is dark. I also was not paying attition on the back side of the swim and I hit the corral.
What would you do differently?:

Wear goggles that I can see through when it is dark out side. Also I need to get to the swim site a few times before the race and get a feel for how the water is.

I was so tight from the swim that I had trouble with getting my jersey on and my number was getting caught in the jersey. Other then that it went smooth I was just moving slow.
What would you do differently?:

I already went out and got a different riding jersey that fits better when I am wet and tight from swiming.

Course was great until I hit Heart break hill and then it broke me down. Once I was on my way back down I felt great and had a good ride.
What would you do differently?:

I again need to work on a lot with my bike I guess I just dont get out and ride as much as I should.

The run is my best event in both of the tri's I have done. I would think I am an alright runner but for some reason I always do better times when in the race then I ever do while training. I loved the cold spounges they had on the course they were a life saver.
What would you do differently?:

I would have had a better swim and bike.
Post race
Warm down:

I messed this part up bad and I payed for it for 2 days after wards. I walked around for about 10 min after I finished went packed up my station and went home. I had to catch a flight about 2 hours after the race and I did not cool down at all nor did I streach so after I landed in LA my body hurt so bad.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I am not training hard enough and I have the worst eating habbits ever.

Event comments:

I will be in this race next year and I am hoping to finish in the top 10 in my age group next year.

Course: flat first mile the up a long slow hill that became a few up and down points and then the really long slow climb up diamond head road, back to a fast pace down hill and the last 1/2 mile was flat.
