Comments:

I was hugging the buoys on the way out there, and a lifeguard stopped me and told me I needed to head right. I'm not sure what the deal was but I ended up swimming quite aways out of the way because of that before the first turn. Overall I had a weak swim, I went out way too fast and it caught up with me the last 200 yards.
What would you do differently?:

Pace better, I felt like the swim was a little longer than 1/3 mile.

Much better here. I need to practice getting my feet out while riding, but going down that hill at +30mph didn't seem like the best time to try it out!

A cold.

Event comments:

My age group was a little slow on the top, so I was thrilled with a second place finish. That will probably be my only chance to get a prize, so I was happy with the place, content with overall time. I've really got the Triathlon bug after my fourth race now.

Course: Very hilly course. The bike was definitely 16.2 miles, not 16 like the results show. I've ridden it a couple times and always end up at 16.2 on my computer. I felt a little sluggish out of the gate, but had a good second half.
