Run
Comments: We were seeded off on a feeder road about half way back. After the gun went off it took about 15 seconds to get to the start line. The four of us worked our way through the other runners at a pretty good, yet conservative clip. After the first mile Kam indicated (turning around running backwards and waving us on) that she wanted to pick up the pace so I went with her. From there it was a balancing act between pushing the edge and starting a projectile vomiting routine! Once we got to the canal and out of the hills I settled in a little bit. Tammy had caught up to us somewhere just before the canal and the 3 of us weaved our way through the other runners. This race is well supported with several water stops. Most of them I simply dumped a cup over my head after a little sip. I tried to push the pace once we got to the main road to the finish, or at least hold a steady pace. Pushed the last half mile up to the finish and was ready to stop running. What would you do differently?: Other than the usual lose weight, run more, yada yada, not much. For me this run is a fun, supported training run leading up to the bigger tri's in July. Great way to get some training in with friends. Plus I beat last years time by a minute or 2. Although, next year my goal will be to get to the canal before the leaders are done with the out and back! Post race
Warm down: Got some water, hit the porto potty and hung around with Dudley, Kam, Tammy and her husband. Had a bagel and some water. Dudley and I hit Dunkin Donuts on the way home for a smoothy! (Thanks Dud!) Event comments: Yellowjacket (Fleet Feet) does a great job with their races. Last updated: 2009-07-04 12:00 AM

A little breakfast, then I picked up Dudley and Tammy and her husband followed us to Fairport. Parked and headed to registration. Kam came running along as we were walking.
Walking the 1/4 mile from parking to registration and then a bit of jogging to the race start 1/2 mile from parking.
