Total Time = 1h 17m 40s
Overall Rank = 24/428
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 4/19
Pre-race routine:

5 hour energy made me a little jittery, but once I got in the water I was fine. We swam about 100 yards pre race
Event warmup:

100 yard swim (aprox) Lots of dynamic stretching
Swim
  • 09m 50s
  • 440 yards
  • 02m 14s / 100 yards
Comments:

Got kicked a few times....swallowed a lot of water....breathing was way off. May have started out too fast?
What would you do differently?:

Get a comfortable pace and maybe stay away from people a little more?
Transition 1
  • 01m 38s
Comments:

Took a little extra time catching my breath. It was a long run up the dock to transition.
What would you do differently?:

Have to get my socks and shoes on more quickly.
Bike
  • 43m 4s
  • 15.9 miles
  • 22.15 mile/hr
Comments:

Strong bike....very pleased.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. I think I pushed hard enough so that I had just enough left for a strong run.
Transition 2
  • 00m 34s
Comments:

Lost my shoe when I jumped off my bike!! Quickly recovered though. Racked bike and threw on my shoes and race belt. Had a top 5 transition time, but think it could be faster if I run with my race belt and put it on on the course?
What would you do differently?:

Don't drop your shoe!
Run
  • 22m 34s
  • 3.15 miles
  • 07m 10s  min/mile
Comments:

Ran strong....on the second climb started to get mild cramping in my quads. Finished a Goo to get me through.
What would you do differently?:

Not much? Pretty strong and since I started to get real tight at the end, don't know if I had much left? Maybe could have started my acceleration to the finish sooner. Use the crowd to take me in.
Post race
Warm down:

Water immediately, walked. Gatorade, walked and shower. Headed back to finish line to wait for Alyssa.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Swim really was my weakest link, again! Not sure if I could have had a better bike or run at this point in my race career.

Event comments:

Swim waves started a little late. Felt kind of rushed at the start.
