Swim
Comments: Last Triathlon, I got in the middle of the fray, got banged around pretty good. This time I layed back and took my time. My plan was to start nice and easy for the first 400 meters. Excelerate the next 400 meters, then all out sprint the final 200 meters. My goal was to beat a 2:30/m pace. I did that @ 2:08/m. What would you do differently?: nothing. I was very pleased with my performance. However, on the last 1/3 of the swim, my googles fogged.. Need to see about some new googles Transition 1

Comments: My goal was to do the ride in 1:20 or less. Pretty much nailed my time @ 1:20:02. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Need to practice SPEED on my bike. I pretty much performed to my current abilities.. Transition 2
Comments: Had trouble racking the bike. due to my far corner rack position What would you do differently?: Need to see about pedaling on top of my shoes.. Run
Comments: Plan was to average a 9 minute mile on the first mile. I hit that on the money. Next was to start increasing my speed. Turned second mile @ 8:43, right on target. 3rd mile I got a blister on my arch. Continued running, but it was painful. Finished @ a 9:25 pace. What would you do differently?: Need to get my cardio to a point where I can run 8:00 minute miles. I'm currently still too slow. I can run a long way, but I can't seem to run short distances fast. Post race
Warm down: Water on my head. 5 minutes of stretching. Probably needed a better cool down. Was not hungry @ all. Tried to eat, but had 1/2 of an orange a 1/2 of a burger. What limited your ability to perform faster: Got a blister on my arch, into the 3rd mile. That slowed me down. But I need to work on more speed drills. I'm just too slow for my age @ all events. But 18 months into my journey fo Triathlons, I think I'm doing OK. Event comments: Great race event. Weather was perfect. Great athletes as well Last updated: 2009-07-06 12:00 AM

Up @ 4:30 AM. Drank my Blueberry smoothy. Had 1 cup of coffee. Want to leave the house by 5:15. It was 5:30. Drove to event. Expected 45 minute drive. It was 55 minutes. Hence I was late to the transition area. BAD SPOT
Did some light stretching. Got in the water and did a 200 meter swim warmup. Continues sipping on Gatorade drink
