Bike
Comments: Great ride for me as I maintained a really good pace throughout the ride. Was able to pass a lot of people. For about 1/3 of the ride 4 riders and I continually leapfrogged each other. Not sure why none of us could simply pass and go on. Saw a group of 6 riders get flagged for drafting just ahead of me. They deserved it too. They rode in a pack for awhile. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I road at an above average pace and maintained a good HR. All those bike rallies I've been doing have paid off Transition 2
Comments: No problems Run
Comments: This was the leg I was worried about. I have really neglected my running and haven't run over 5 miles in 6 months. Tried to maintain 9 1/2 min. mile pace and was consistent with this. I only walked 3 times which is REALLY good for me. At 5 miles I picked up the pace to 8 min miles for the rest of the run....and I maintained it!!!! It was sweet, I actually passed people at the end of the race. Maybe I should under train more often What would you do differently?: Not walk at all. I could have done it but it is SOOOO tempting at times Post race
Warm down: Not much. got watermelon, oranges and Vitamin Water. Sat in the shade and then split What limited your ability to perform faster: Training Event comments: Dallas Athletes did a great job this year. It was well organized and had a good upbeat atmosphere. Last updated: 2009-07-06 12:00 AM
