Swim
Comments: Felt good on the swim. Got in the middle and mixed it up w/ the group. :) Funniest thing was on the last leg I swam side by side w/ a friend from a previous race. We had run together at my last oly and now we swam together. Popped up out of the water and looked at each other and were surprised to see each other. Nice feeling. Transition 1
Comments: longish run from beach exit to transition zone. everything was soaked from the rain. Chatted w/ my friend about wether to wear shades or not. Bike
Comments: felt good overall. gave it all I had. Transition 2
Run
Comments: legs were tired on the run. Worked on finding a pace to hold in order to save something for the finish. Negative splitting. Was able to kick it up a notch for the finish. Post race
Warm down: post race pics w. brother and son. So very nice to have family at the finish. Treasured. Also got to hug my friend Rachel and chit chat w. her and her husband. Nice folks. Event comments: Time out and Rich Havens ALWAYS operate great events. Well organized, well marked, well fed. Kudos to the team Last updated: 2005-08-25 12:00 AM

Arrived in plenty of time. My 15 1/2 yo son came to the race w/ me and we met my older brother there too. No stress. ALso bounced into some other folks I had met from previous races.
Race ended up being delayed 1 1/2 hours due to a storm cell moving thru. Drenching rains and thunder but cleared quickly.
short swim to check bottom and water conditions. bottom was rocky in places.
