Pre-race routine:

Up, quick stop at Starbucks for the morning jolt and then join the crazy line to find a place to park!!
Event warmup:

Jumping around in my wetsuit trying to stay warm....
Swim
  • 38m 58s
  • 2112 yards
  • 01m 51s / 100 yards
Comments:

Straight forward swim...not much to think about but it did seem like it stayed crowded for a long time.
Transition 1
  • 02m 9s
Comments:

I love wetsuit strippers!
Bike
  • 2h 43m 28s
  • 56 miles
  • 20.55 mile/hr
Comments:

Decent course...would have been fun had it been dry...there were a bunch of places that I was sure I was going to flat! Lost my gel flask on one bump (stopped to get it) and then I think on the same bump on the way back I jetted a bottle (luckily it was mostly empty)....finished up and just was glad to be done.
Transition 2
  • 02m 33s
Comments:

In and out but the rain made getting my socks on a real pain but I was glad to have them when I found out how the run course was a partial lake!
Run
  • 2h 00m 54s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 09m 14s  min/mile
Comments:

This was a two loop ordeal on a sidewalk around the lake...would have been a fun little course except for the couple of 3+" deep puddles along the way....at least twice I wondered to myself if it was possible to trip over standing water!! The slick footing made me run a bit tentative and that aggravated my sore calf so I throttled it back some so I could finish the season on a decent note since I was not gunning for a PR or anything with the conditions!!
Post race
Warm down:

Try not to slip on the mud!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

RAIN!

Event comments:

Too many people for the venue.....parking sucked.......I really felt bad for the guys doing the full as the folks leaving the race site after the half were walking on the sidewalk that was their run course.....some folks were oblivious!!!
The folks doing the full could not possibly have been getting the full attention of the race staff or the crowd with all the commotion of the half folks leaving with their bike and gear and such.....reminds me to be VERY careful of doing a race with multiple lengths at the same time.....
