Pre-race routine:

went to the race to drop off my bike the night before and got a great rack space! went for pasta dinner in racine with mom and a friend. had a huge lasagna that i couldn't finish! up at 4 am for a peanut butter bagel and some gatorade. drive to the race and get transition set up.

considering i hadn't been in the pool much for the last 3 weeks i was happy. the sun made sighting tricky bit there were rafts to look for so i made it without head butting the oncoming wave:)

i managed to pull my left shoe off of the pedal while slipping out. didn't have time to put it back on so i rode with my foot on the pedal and shoe on the bullhorn. couldn't do my flying dismount:(

just wanted to run fast and did pretty well. training has been sporadic at best for the last month so i didn't know what to expect. had fun:)

Warm down:

walk around, drink, eat bagels and bread. somehow managed to miss my friend and mom at the finish even though i was sitting on the course.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of consistent training.

this is a great little race. always fun to hammer it at the end of the season!
