Pre-race routine:

Set up transition in two different spots. Ate a power bar and peanutbutter on toast. Gatoraid.

Comments:

Got cought up with a large pack and had a hard time getting relaxed. Started breathing too heavy. Slowed down a bit caught my breath and worked on my stroke.
What would you do differently?:

Start farther on the outside away from the crowd. So I can get into a rythem.

Don't get the suit caught on my heals.

I didn't mind the hills too much but some people were having a tough time. I drove around the course the day before in my car so I would have and idea of what the layout would be.
What would you do differently?:

If it wasn't as wet I would have taken the turns faster.

Felt good on the run. Didn't start off too fast, keept with a slower pace untill my legs felt good. Felt really good by the second lap.

Warm down:

Walked around and talked with some college friends that I had ran into at the start. Pleasant surprise.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Staying up too late and drinking beer. I felt good. Next up and Olympic..

Event comments:

Good race, will do it again. It was cool to see the Hoyts on the course. I ended up swimming next to them for a bit.

Course: 3 laps of a 5 mile course. Lots of hills, espcially the last 1.5 miles of the loop. Some very fast down hills as well, one with a very sharp turn that caused a few to crash.
